One Night in Harlem, LLC, a subsidiary of Ghostlight Trust Productions, LLC, presents a speculative “what if” reunion of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, and Nina Simone—five musical icons long divided by an industry built on exploitation, racism, and sexism.
Through immersive workshops, staged readings, and community-engaged development, the production unites these women’s voices into a singular chorus of truth, lifting the veil on the contracts and cultural systems that sought to silence them.
By reclaiming and reframing a night that never happened but should have, One Night in Harlem redefines the legacy of American music while empowering underrepresented artists to reclaim authorship, agency, and the light of representation—illuminated eternally beneath the ghost light.
One Night in Harlem operates under fiscal sponsorship by Fractured Atlas, a nonprofit arts service organization, with all intellectual property owned and managed by Ghostlight Trust Productions, LLC.
