The Ontology of the Working Body is an interdisciplinary research project exploring how choreography, design, and emerging technology can transform the way we understand movement. Bringing together creative direction, computational visualization, and movement research, the project combines motion capture, biomechanics, and creative visualization to reveal the hidden forces that shape skilled movement. Through public exhibitions, live demonstrations, workshops, and open educational resources, the project invites audiences to experience dance not only as performance, but as a rich system of physical intelligence that can be seen, studied, and shared.
This project will be brought to life at Balletic Athletic in Downtown Los Angeles through the collaborative practice of Alexis Copithorne, Wendy Yu, and Whitney Schmanski.
