Opulent Mobility asks artists and audience members to re-imagine disability as opulent and powerful. The exhibits began in 2013 and include artists from across the United States and from Taiwan, Belgium, the UK, Ireland, Finland, Australia, India, and Serbia. Opulent Mobility brings disability art into the fine arts world, gives opportunities to disabled artists, and starts conversations between disabled and able bodied folks about creating a more equitable world for us all.

Your funding will help make these exhibits accessible and welcoming to folks who have mobility issues or are blind, low vision, hard of hearing, or Deaf. They will be used for renting ADA compliant spaces, audio description of the artworks, creating online offerings for folks who cannot travel, live captioning, and ASL interpreters. Funds also make it possible for artists from overseas and across the US to take part in the exhibits who cannot afford art transportation; digital files are printed and framed on site, relieving artists of the cost of shipping and insurance. We aim for accessibility of all kinds, including financial accessibility.

Opulent Mobility is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Opulent Mobility must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
