P.ink Day 2017 is underway. This year we’re connecting 61 breast cancer survivors with artists in 11 cities who are helping them reclaim the mirror. And this marks five consecutive years of P.ink Days. And five years of helping breast cancer survivors heal with ink. Details: http://p-ink.org/p-inkday/
That's great -- across all our P.ink initiatives, we've helped 230 survivors make friends with the mirror again with a life-changing mastectomy tattoo. All organizated with the talents of more than 1,000 volunteers.
But it's nowhere near enough. Our waitlist of applicants for our P.ink programs is more than 1,500 survivors long. (And that's just within North America. Survivors elsewhere have even fewer options due to a lack of trained artists.)
On the one hand, we've stuck a nerve and demand is incredibly high. On the other hand, we need your help to meet that demand.
So here's your opportunity to make every day a P.ink Day. Your donation to the P.ink Fund benefits survivors by providing for mastectomy tattoos all year long.
Here's how it works:
1) A breast cancer survivor seeking a mastectomy tattoo has reached out to us in the past at at P.ink via http://p-ink.org/signup.
2) We match that person with a trusted, qualified artist in their area. (Currently North America only.)
3) Your donations pay these artist fees.
All tattoos are funded on a first-come, first-serve basis. And as long as there’s funding, we’ll continue to facilitate this powerful act of healing.
