ONLINE PROFILE:
Crayons Cares is an ongoing project and is born out of Crayons Gone Wild! Ken Markiewicz is a Chicago-based mural artist whose primary focus is on children and making people "feel" good! We know, first-hand, what our murals can do. For years our clients have been telling us how much they appreciate and love our work – that it really does make a difference – that it makes them smile”¦ and they LOVE spending time in their room”¦ Now we’d like to share that feeling with those who can benefit from it the most – make their day a little brighter – help them forget their pain for a little while.
We can bring these murals to more people more often with this special funding. We can mural a shelter, hospital, individual home, nursing home, school, or anywhere a positive mental, healthy environment is needed.
We already know what a mural can do emotionally for a “healthy person,” so imagine what a mural can do for someone less fortunate. The murals are designed to help someone who is stressed, depressed, ill (chronically, critically or terminally).
Through our vision, painting technique and use of soothing colors, we have found that perfect combination which allows our murals to literally change the way you feel when you walk into the room. Our murals will uplift, stimulate, or even relax you. Art does have a healing aspect.
With this program we can create a positive atmosphere for those who need it, funded by the goodwill from individuals, companies and corporations who want to help share it. We presently work with several non-profits, including Special Spaces, Chicago Cares and Make-a-Wish.
We also use green, NO VOC paints, which are healthy for the environment as well. To see samples of our work, visit www.crayonsgonewild.com.
