Parts & Labor is a non-profit artist residency dedicated to supporting a flourishing practice for visual artists who are actively parenting or supporting dependent parents and partners. Parts & Labor provides residency stays and is support tailored to the unique needs of these artists.
The residency is facilitated at The Corner, the heart of a neighborhood of artists and arts appreciators, and the family home and studio space of Matt & Liz Kleberg.
The residency accommodates guests at the Arcieniega House, a historical home in the Lavaca neighborhood of South San Antonio, Texas.
Through an ongoing exchange with the local arts scene—and our neighbors, Parts & Labor visiting residents are afforded the opportunity and financial resources to make work within the context of a warm and welcoming community. In the coming months, with input from residents should they desire, we hope to present small exhibitions, poetry readings, craft talks, lectures, and workshops that are open to the San Antonio public.
