About

Path Beyond Mind creates dharma-inspired films that explore inner transformation and outer journeys. The project documents experiences of pilgrimage and practice, offering authentic and inspiring media for contemplative audiences. These works are shared as offerings — to spark connection and support inner transformation.

In contemplation at the top of the world, Tibet.

This volunteer media initiative was inspired by a journey to Tibet in 2024, which offered a window into both sacred landscapes and the hard work of stabilizing the mind. This resulted in the documentary Journey to Golok, currently in the final editing stage.

In the future, Path Beyond Mind will continue to explore contemplative journeys — through more documentaries, interviews with teachers and practitioners, and essay films that explore the inner path. The work may also include collaborations with dharma organizations seeking to share their lineage, practice, or stories through film.

Spring flowers in Golok.

This project is grassroots and high-tech. Director and Editor Catherine Hollander has a long track record as a professional editor, with a special interest in spiritually-themed films. Donations are currently needed for final editing and finishing costs for Journey to Golok, as well as for purchasing an updated video editing system to support future projects.

Path Beyond Mind aspires to create space for contemplation and spiritual connection through media — investigating that which appears to be beyond the ordinary reach of daily life, both outer and inner. By mining and sharing our deepest capacities, we may find inspiration to become our better selves — and bring positive change to a troubled world.
