We're creating pop culture parody theatre that includes burlesque, drag, aerialists, and other performance styles. Our shows celebrate and satirize cultural icons in a way that brings audiences and artists together. Under the name Nerdlesque NYC, we have monthly shows at The Slipper Room in the Lower East Side of NYC including variety shows and fully scripted parody plays.
Our long term plans include looking to stage a burlesque/dance piece to the classic poem GOBLIN MARKET by Christina Rossetti, adapted for the stage by playwright Justin Maxwell. This piece will explore female beauty and sexuality standards, particularly the double standards surrounding male and female promiscuity.
