Dear Constituents,
Since 2014, Pizarts has been serving the dance community through its cultural exchange-centered dance projects. We have taught, produced shows, provided financial support, sponsored fellow dance collectives, and hosted residencies for all-level career artists and gap year participants.
Countries we have participated in or with include:
United Kingdom, Japan, Argentina, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Amsterdam, Italy, and Spain.
In 2021 Pizarts launched the 3,000sqft, Bronx Artist Residency[BAR], live-in, create-in space. For 12-week periods, Pizarts hosts four dancers who participate in professional development sessions, rehearsals, mentorship, performances, photoshoots, cultural activities in the city, and volunteer. Our participants typically range in ages 17-25.
Pizarts BAR also supports many local artists with its addition, the newly launched 3,000sqft, BAR Gallery, designed to support exhibitions, immersive shows, local humanitarian-based events, and studio production for low-budget film and photography projects. The gallery annex was donated by Harrod Avenue block homeowner and BAR Garden Directors Sue and Eileen.
