Kim Bernard creates sculpture that is recycled, kinetic, interactive, public and involves the community. She is currently focused on upcycling plastic waste into sculptural installations using her portable recycling machines.
"My PopUpCycler is compact and trailerable, allowing me to create upcycled sculptural installations with communities anywhere: schools, art centers, libraries, museums, community events. After a plastic collection campaign, we deposit waste into one end and a new, malleable plastic will emerge from the other end, which I'll use to make sculptural installations. My goal is to engage, create, educate and inspire by turning trash into art." -Kim
