READING IN BLACK is a documentary series that celebrates Black children's literature by centering the voices of Black creators and children. Sparked by the increased advocacy for more diverse and inclusive books, the series sets out to explore the history of Black children's literature in the United States, the contributions of Black children's authors and illustrators and the future of Black children's literature.

GOALS - Amplify the voices of the creators of Black Children's Literature
- Educate audiences about the history of Black Children's Literature and it's contributions
- Advocate for more books that center the voices, images and experiences of Black children and youth
- Celebrate stories for and about Black children
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED
Funds will be used to pay for key expenses such as: hiring personnel for video editing, closed-captioning, transcription services, travel costs for onsite filming, purchase of production equipment, website hosting, and much more.
