Thank you first and foremost for considering supporting our film 'Rebel Rebel'!  

By highlighting a special exchange between a teacher and student, our short film seeks to inspire empathy and connection, and if the last couple of years have taught us one thing... is that we all benefit from connecting to each other. With all of our societal challenges, it is our deep sense of humanity that has the potential to bridge our gaps.

We have our eyes set on the Tribeca Film Festival as our intended US premiere of 'Rebel Rebel', and in order to finish the film by the fast-approaching submission deadline (January 11, 2023) we are asking for support to cover our outstanding production costs and finishing costs.

Back in 2020, REBEL REBEL was just an idea for a short story. 
Then, it became a short story posted on writer/director Tamar Pelzig's daily blog 'Thoth And I.' Shortly after, a screenplay followed along. And now, after months of pre-production...  'Rebel Rebel' finally wrapped filming in October 2022!

The film is written and directed by Tamar Pelzig, stars Safa Tarifi and Patricia Belcher, has cinematography by Yura Makarov and is executive produced by Brigitte Kali Canales. 

A predominantly female/female-identifying cast & crew gave their hearts, talents, and time to the making of this beautiful story.

We are asking for support to help cover some of our outstanding production costs and our finishing funds so we can finish the film in time for the approaching Tribeca film festival submission deadline, which is on January 11, 2023.
 
We have no doubt that sharing this film in a prestigious festival such as Tribeca Film Festival, would open more doors for distribution and help this meaningful story be seen by the world!

The message of GIVING in the story echoed loudly through our production:
'Rebel Rebel' would have cost us significantly more if it wasn't for the generosity and kindness of our cast and crew who made filming possible for a fraction of the cost. That is an indication of the labor of love that was felt through and through and the belief we all have in the story we are telling. By supporting the production costs of our film, you will not only be supporting the incredible artists behind it, but also you will be expanding the likelihood that the film will be seen by as many people as possible.

~Where will the total $18K go?~

$9K - outstanding production costs such as location, rental gear, and crew payments.
$6K - finishing costs such as editing, music, coloring, sound design, and sound mixing.
$3K-  Press package and film festival submissions.
