About

Over the past ten years in Chicago, we have watched prolific storefront theatre companies rise and fall. And our community has risen and fallen with them: as actors, directors, playwrights, and administrators. While the buildings may change hands and ensemble members come and go, one thing remains the same: it is the sacrifice of artists powering these institutions. To that end, we are excited to bring these experiences to the screen with an ensemble film that mines the humor and heartache of theatre making. In an increasingly unstable world, our chosen family and the activities we align ourselves with play an outsize role in not just our happiness, but our identity itself. Our film explores the question: What would you do if the house of cards fell down and what was once a source of pride became one of your biggest regrets?
