Picture Lady Inc. has established the REMEMBER ME PROJECT.
The mission of REMEMBER ME is to honor New York City's firefighters by producing a series of books featuring, by Division, the firehouses and their members in all five Boroughs of the City, including their histories, hand-crafted tributes to the fallen, the fires they've fought, the battles they've won and lost.
REMEMBER ME continues on the web with our recognition of those who have supported our firefighters, and our deep appreciation of the men and women of the Military who answered the call in honor of those who perished on 9/11 and to fight in defense of their country's freedoms.
The firefighter community is different from any other group in the workplace. It is a true family, bound together by respect, loyalty and trust in one another, that extends way beyond the boundaries of their companies. When night fell on the evening of 9/11, 25,000 had been rescued and 343 NYC firefighters had made the ultimate sacrifice. The loss of those 343 was felt by every member of every firehouse in the city, in the country and throughout the world. Thousands came from every corner of the globe to help in the recovery process, and still come to pay their respects to those left behind.
The Remember Me Project supports our newest wounded warriors and those first responders suffering from the aftereffects of searching for their fallen brothers at the Trade Center site during the recovery period.
