(R)evolutions: A New Work Festivalwill explore new plays and musicals that literally or metaphorically look at the theme of crossing borders. RC Rep’s inaugural new works festival theme is Crossing Borders.
Borders can be geographical, racial, political, emotional, sexual, gender-related, etc.
Borders can be obstacles or opportunities.
Borders can create, reveal, and mend conflict.
Earlier this year, RC Rep put a call out for new plays and has selected two plays (from 75 submissions!) to move forward toward development. The two playwrights have each been paired with a dramaturg, director, and a cast. Together, they are workshopping the play, and will present a staged reading of their play to Michigan audiences in a public performance at the end of May 2023.
How Can You Help?
Come to a reading – in person or online.
Tickets are $10 each, or save $$ and attend both readings ($15 for both).
Spread the word. Tell your friends, colleagues, social media followers!
Without ticket sales and donations, RC Rep would not be able to bring invigorating and thought-provoking stories to the stages of Southeast Michigan. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to ensure these stories have a platform on which to be seen and heard.
For ONE WEEK in May, RC Rep's fiscal sponsor, Fractured Atlas, is distributing $1,000 to 20 different projects for their annual Spring Match campaign. Every donation that you make to Renaissance City Repertory Theatre between Monday, May 22 and Friday, May 26 equals one extra chance for us to receive the $1k.
Every donation counts! Please make a donation of any amount to improve our odds, and be sure to share our fundraiser far and wide.
One donation = one entry = more chances for our name to be drawn at random to receive $1k.
Fractured Atlas is a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of Renaissance City Repertory Theatre are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
