The Resonance Collective exits to inspire and nurture the collective spirit of Los Angeles and beyond by exploring and expanding our understanding of the arts as a sacred experience, through the creation, performance, and education of innovative and adventurous music.
The primary activities are:
- The Golden Thread Music Series - A monthly event series that expands on the ritual and ceremonial elements of a musical concert into a spiritual, as well as artistic, experience. These concerts are strongly thematic, include a presentation or ‘homily’ element, and some level of ritual. The curated series will include a wide diversity of musical expression from the plethora of ethnicities and cultures found in Los Angeles and will be directed by Fahad Siadat.
- The N.E.O. Voice Festival - an annual, week-long event in the summer featuring a series of concerts and workshops focused on exploring the voice. Each year’s festival culminates in the Exploratorio, a new oratorio created by participants of the festival that re-examines facets of traditionally sacred themes. Program co-directed by David Harris and Laurel Irene in partnership with VoiceScienceWorks, FCCLA, and See-A-Dot Music Publishing.
- Resonance Collective Original Works - An ongoing creative exploration of the intersection between music, dance, and other art forms. The Resonance Collective will host two interdisciplinary workshops a year open to the public, as well as develop and produce new evening-length narrative works once every two years. Program directed by André Megerdichian in conjunction with Fahad Siadat.
