Rest with Honor

Rest with Honor Project is a historical social justice initiative created by Lauri Lyons that commemorates and preserves Black history sites, including the African Burial Ground in Savannah, Georgia. The initiative is focused on petitioning the City of Savannah to officially commemorate the burial ground, remove / rename the Confederate and slave owner names from the burial ground, install historical markers, build a memorial, create educational programs, and federally protect the burial ground via the National Park Service or as a UNESCO World Heritage site.  For more information visit: www.restwithhonorproject.org
