Rhoslyn’s work as a multi-faceted artist includes operatic performance, classical recitals, soloist within orchestral works, voice teaching, masterclasses, writing, and mentorship. Rhoslyn Jones’ recording projects aim to center music written by female identifying composers and to broaden the scope of what is considered standard repertoire to those who study voice with a goal to build their lives in music.
Current projects include a world premiere recording of music written by composer
Jodi Goble set to poetry by Rilke. “Circle of Light” is a collection of seven meditations for soprano and piano and will be recorded at San Francisco Conservatory of Music using their state of the art recording and production facilities.
Future projects include recording music written by Amanda Maier, Clara Schumann,
Cecilia Livingston, Florence Price, and will collaborate with female identifying musicians like
Carrie-Ann Matheson, Marika Yasuda, and Jodi Goble.
Other projects connected to this include a recital tour of this music that would bring this repertoire to schools and organizations all over the country, with a goal to reach out to underserved areas of music education. In an effort to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in the scope of vocal education, Rhoslyn hopes to connect with young people and inspire them to pursue a love of singing, performing, and arts advocacy. Building a life in music is something that is best shown by someone leading by example and these projects are centered on that.
Rhoslyn’s performances have been described as like a “bright light cutting through murky skies,” with a voice that is “luscious, and her soul opens forthrightly and generously to the audience.” She is on the voice faculty of
San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she maintains a full and thriving studio. She is on the voice faculty for the San Francisco Opera Center where she teaches the Adler Fellows, and Merola Program participants.
She has appeared at opera houses and concert halls all over North America and excels in the repertoire of Puccini, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Janacek. Performing with companies such as San Francisco Opera, Vancouver Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, New York City Ballet Orchestra, Colorado Symphony, and many more, Rhoslyn aims to combine her love of performance with her passion for teaching and outreach to bring music education to as many individuals as possible.
