About

The One Million Words Project is an ongoing exploration and research that blends theater, literature, and personal storytelling to create intimate, inspiring experiences. In addition to performances, the project offers workshops and post-show conversations with audiences, writers, and students, extending the dialogue beyond the stage. Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet, the show connects a poet from the past with an actor in the present, exploring creativity, belonging, and what it means to stay grounded in a fast-moving world.

The project began in Brazil more than a decade ago, when actor Ivo Müller first adapted Rilke’s letters for the stage. Since then, it has grown through years of research, performances, and conversations with audiences. The work has been presented in São Paulo, New York, and Los Angeles, and will tour internationally in 2026, including an appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the main goal for this fundraising right now.

Our mission is to bring inspiration, joy, and meaningful entertainment to communities everywhere, fostering empathy, cultural exchange, and connection through the shared experience of live performance.
