Roi Escudero is a conceptual performance-artist who mingles performance-art-cinema with documentary-visual theatre.
The artist crafts her interdisciplinary work on camera and on stage through an artful planning method containing written works, stage design, performing and visual art: multimedia video and film. The production is in its whole designed and hand made by Roi. To create the sets, costumes and life-sized puppets characters, the artist utilizes recycled materials and found objects. As part of the visual concept Roi uses multimedia video, shot with cinéma vérité techniques. Roi's mise-en-scène connects the virtual narrative of moving images with a preconceived plot, and the spontaneous performance-art action. Time and space become one, and the imaginary fourth wall is removed to engage the audience as a “real” witness of an "immersive dramatic spectacle". The artist brands her theatrical installations as performance-art-cinema™. Her vision paved the way for new media-theatre through her ECO-friendly Connected Series BUBULINOS’ DREAMS and ANTONIN ARTAUD Series.
