Ron Lytle's works have been performed thousands of times throughout the United States, Canada, England and Australia. His award-winning, smash hit musical "Oh My Godmother!" won him critical raves when it opened in 2005, received a commendation from the State of California for excellence, and has set box office records. The Original San Francisco Cast Album was released in 2008.
His holiday musical "The Man Who Saved Christmas", debuted in 2006 and was deemed an "instant holiday classic" by the press. Performance rights were released across the country for the 2009 season. A studio cast album was released in 2014 and named to Talkin’ Broadway’s Sound Advice “Top 10 Cast Albums of the Year” list, in addition to winning the Family Choice Award in the category of recorded music in 2015.
He followed up TMWSC with another holiday hit in 2017: "Christmas In OZ". That workshop production led to the 2019 production. Performance rights have since been released, and the show has played throughout the country. A studio cast album featuring a cast of prominent Broadway talent was released in 2026.
In addition to his full-length musicals, Ron has written more than a dozen one-act musicals for the family market. Eight showstoppers from this body of work were incorporated into the movie musical "Once Upon a Time Step". An original cast soundtrack album was released, which featured all the songs from the film, plus an additional eight Lytle songs from his various other one-acts.
Today Ron continues to develop new works for the theatre (including a recent commission to adapt a young adult adventure novel to the stage) and new recording projects (including concept albums for two new musicals).
And this is where you come in…
By sponsoring this project you will be supporting the development and promotion of the work of musical theatre creator Ron Lytle. All funds raised via this project will be used to help defray the ever-rising costs of commissioning orchestrations and orchestral backing tracks, the printing of scripts and scores; the recording of new (and previously unrecorded) scores; the production of concept albums of as-yet unproduced works (“Madcap May”, “Leonardo and the Time Travelers”); and the presentation of workshops, staged readings, full productions, and fully staged filmed versions of existing shows to be used as marketing tools.
Thank you for supporting the creation of new works!
