I hope to fill the need for high quality, imaginative children's programming and also to raise public awareness of this excellent series of books that highlights the cultural diversity of the Philippines. As a Filipina-American I have been exploring Filipino folktales and musical traditions in order to deepen my understanding of the Philippines and so that I may integrate elements of the culture into my work as a musician. I have found many sources of inspiration in these books and as a new mother I appreciate the cultural insights they provide for my child. I would like to help to share these stories with the public and so I was inspired to create music to accompany the books.
