At Saudade Theatre, our mission is to produce thought-provoking theatre rooted in the Portuguese consciousness and to bridge cultural divides between Portugal, its diaspora, and the United States. By curating and developing these unique new works, we fill a vital gap in American theatre, fostering collaboration with diverse artists and cultivating a vibrant space for cross-cultural exchange and impactful storytelling.
We are proud to have overseen several US and World Premieres and facilitated workshops that encourage the exploration of new texts and ideas. Productions like 'The Constitution', 'My Favorite Suicide', 'El Comanchero or [The Path to the Kingdom of Heaven]', and 'I Am The Dead Man' reflect our commitment to producing work that challenges and moves audiences.
