About

Manning Music offers an abundance of learning opportunities for musicians interested in various traditional styles of music.  This includes private lessons, and weekly group classes for playing in a band, music appreciation, Celtic fiddle, improvisation, theory and bluegrass lick vocabulary. We also offer free jams and open-mic nights each month. Each summer we offer a Summer Camp for kids.

We feel that Manning Music is as much a community as it is a school.  So many friendships and bands have formed through the connections made here.  We are also sure to share this music with our larger community by performing with our students at retirement centers, farmer’s markets, square dances, and more. And each year we host a student concert at the Freight and Salvage.

Students also use their music to raise money for various causes. We were a top contributor to the Sierra Club raising $6000 through a “Practice-a-Thon" our students participated in. We wanted our students, especially the children, to experience that they can make a difference in the world with their music. After the recent North Bay fires, our students raised $1900 money for the Latino Community Fund and collected pet donations for Hop-a-Long Rescue.

We currently have 14 teachers at Manning Music offering lessons for fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro and ukulele.  We remain grateful for the community and all the support we receive.

With Gratitude,

Chad and Catherine Manning
