Scope Of Work (SOW) is a talent development agency for young Black, Indigenous and people of color creatives that aims to establish equity in NYC's creative industry. Founded in 2016 by two career artists and educators of color with over a decade-long career in youth development and arts-education sector. SOW’s vision is to build a more inclusive creative ecosystem.
SOW specifically supports an annual cohort of 150 young BIPOC creatives, ages 17-24 years old, hailing from all five boroughs of NYC. SOW by provides its Members with free creative skill-building, professional development, one-on-one mentorship, and access to paid opportunities in the creative industry. SOW’s ecosystem was designed to realize equity and reflective representation for those who hold the keys to the future of one of NYC’s fastest-growing sectors: young creatives of color.
Donations to SOW go directly to free programming, support, and economic opportunities for NYC’s young BIPOC creatives. Every level of donation goes to good use. Anything from $5 to $50,000 is a direct investment in our SOW Member community and in turn a more inclusive creative sector.
