We made it!

We want to thank all of the generous donors that have helped us get to this point. We are eager to open our doors soon, and this was made possible through us reaching our goal. Now, we are able to afford DeKalb County Fire and Water inspections, so we can get our business license and finally be able to serve the Metro Atlanta community. We had volunteers come and paint our retail walls a bright yellow to welcome customers. Soon, we will install our flooring, and we'll be ready to start setting up our shelves.
The retail space's paint comes from local Buy Nothing Groups and the ATL Green Theatre.

We truly appreciate the support from our community and look forward to an amazing grand opening in July.

We have Electricity

One of the hardest parts of getting into the retail space is over. We now have electricity, so we can see almost every corner of the building. The space looks a little less haunted, and we're excited to decorate with cool things and bright colors to make the store look artsy. The gallery area's lighting is a little moody, so we're trying to decide if we should get brighter bulbs for overhead lights, or if we just get nice lamps. Our minds are spinning with wonderful ideas for ways to make the space come alive.
Here is our future Classroom/Art Gallery Space. We plan to knock down one of the walls for extra storage and to use it as a flex space.
On Thursday, March 31, 2022, Scraplanta  Creative Reuse finally received possession of our brand new retail space from our property manager. Everyone was super excited about the news until we realized just how much work needed to be done in our new building. According to our lease, we are responsible for getting Scraplanta fabulous for our customers, so we are asking for our community to help us get this space together!

The current state of the retail space when it was first turned over to us on March 31, 2022.

With your help, we can purchase supplies such as ceiling tiles and a sprinkler system to make Scraplanta a safe place to shop! As we work on re-opening, we will post progress shots for our community. Through the work of dedicated volunteers, we will be able to get the walls painted and the floors done for a welcoming atmosphere.
This is the current state of our employee bathroom. We need a cover for the electrical wiring.

We would be so grateful for any donation that we receive to help us open our doors. We are on a mission to become a community resource for Atlanta area artists, teachers, students, and everyone else in between.
