About

Season of Sculpture is an annual public art exhibition bringing large-scale sculpture to Sarasota's Bayfront Park each November through April. The exhibition is free and open to the public, placing monumental works by world-class artists along a waterfront corridor in the heart of Sarasota, a main artery stretch of public space on Florida's Gulf Coast. The project revives a beloved Sarasota institution that ran from 1999 to 2015, when it was recognized as one of Florida's premier cultural events. Year 1 (opening November 2027) will feature 10 sculptures, with plans to return to the original scale of 21 works. Programming includes artist talks, school field trips, self-guided audio tours, and partner events with organizations including beloved neighboring cultural institutions. Season of Sculpture is led by a team of new leadership and former board members committed to carrying the exhibition into its next chapter. The project serves Sarasota's residents, students, and the roughly 1.5 million tourists who visit the county annually, bringing world-class art to a fully accessible public space at no charge.
