About

Seen in Staten Island is a public photography exhibition pairing professional photographers with photographers who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together, they document the landscapes, communities, and stories of Staten Island, and share that work publicly for all to see.

Your donation supports:

  • Photographer stipends
  • Adaptive equipment
  • Event costs and installation
  • Community outreach

Every dollar helps ensure this exhibition remains free and accessible to everyone.

Where to See It: Seen in Staten Island is the featured initiative at Assume I Can, a group exhibition at Moments Gallery in partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society.

Opening Reception: Friday, September 11th, 3:00–6:00 PM
Live music, refreshments, and an opportunity to connect with collectors, advocates, and community members. A portion of artwork sales will be donated to NDSS.

A second free public exhibition of Seen in Staten Island will be hosted on Staten Island later this year. Stay tuned for details.
