September is an annual contemporary art anthology edited in Brooklyn by Rain Chan, Andrea
Orejarena, and Caleb Stein. One theme a year brings artists, writers, filmmakers, architects, and
critics together in print and through public programs. The first issue, Map of Maps, explores the
archive, with work by Francis Alÿs, Christian Marclay, Dayanita Singh, Penelope
Umbrico, Vince Aletti and others among nearly 60 contributors. The second issue takes on
utopia. September also organizes free public talks, readings, screenings, performances, and
interdisciplinary conversations around each issue. Donations support contributor honoraria,
editorial and production costs, free copies for libraries, archives, and art schools, and free public
programming.
