Shermie the Lovable Turtle, created by Shawn Beaver, is a children’s literary arts and audio storytelling project designed to inspire early literacy, imagination, emotional wellness, and meaningful family connection. Through original eBooks, human-narrated audiobooks, bedtime stories, illustrated characters, calming story videos, gentle music, printable coloring pages, and creative listening activities, Shermie gives children ages 2–8 a warm and soothing way to read, listen, learn, dream, and express big feelings.
Shermie’s stories are created to help young children feel safe, loved, brave, curious, and emotionally supported while encouraging a lifelong love of reading, listening, creativity, and storytelling. The project serves children, families, caregivers, educators, libraries, schools, and community programs by offering calming, accessible, and heart-centered storytelling experiences.
Now and in the future, Shermie will be shared through digital eBooks, human-narrated audiobooks, calming story videos, parent listening guides, printable literacy activities, coloring pages, and free or low-cost digital resources. Future public programming may include library Storytimes, school and community readings, online listening sessions, family literacy activities, and partnerships with children’s programs. Shermie’s goal is to make gentle storytelling more accessible while supporting literacy, emotional confidence, peaceful bedtime routines, and family engagement.
