Small Fish Radio Theatre and Thespinarium produces Portable Theatre For The Ear.
We curate podcasts of original theatre, music, poetry and storytelling, mixing up an old time radio show format with new plays, music, poems, and stories. Whether recorded before a live audience or in the studio, our podcasts are always available for FREE on iTunes and our web site.
Small Fish Radio Theatre has produced over 40 podcasts featuring the work of 35 writers from around the world and 24 performing artists. We’ve recorded live at Chicago Fringe, Chicago Dramatists, The Biograph at Victory Gardens Theatre, and Simon's Tavern and the Swedish American Museum in Andersonville. Small Fish Radio Theatre’s “The Approximately 20-Minute Variety Hour” is broadcast in Oregon on KYAQ 91.7 FM, Lincoln County's only community radio station. We are also a top-featured podcast on Atlanta Fringe Audio.
Small Fish Radio Theatre pays a stipend to every writer and performing artist featured in our podcasts. Revenue from lives shows only covers a small portion of expenses.
As we plan another season of “portable theatre for the ear,” we give thanks for the generous support from our listeners. Please help us to continue producing the work of new and emerging artists, bringing theatre, music, poetry, and storytelling to new audiences at no charge.
