Founded in 2006 by Erin Greenwell, Smithy Productions has made films with the aim to with the aim to house various talents from the queer/ independent art community under the umbrella of narrative/ documentary storytelling.

The Phoenix and the Dove- (dir) Status-Post Production. Animated short based on a Bedford Hills College Program art project, The Phoenix and the Dove. Inspired by the homework prompt “The unexamined life is not worth living,” an incarcerated woman, Connie Leung, found objects in prison; scraps of paper, wrappers, beads and even a lone pigeon feather that drifted to the recreation yard in the dead of winter and assembled a collage book that, along with her writing, tells the tale of being lost and found through accountability and self-reflection.
Weird Wednesdays- (dir) Status - Development/Fundraising - Composer and instrument inventor Terry Dame will bring her Weird Wednesdays series to the Catskills. The pilot and ongoing web series will showcase musicians performing invented instruments. Through talk back sessions and animation, viewers will learn how their inventions work.
Skin the Wire - (dir)(formerly titled Obsolete) Status - Post production. Narrative coming of age short. At a pop up carnival, the bond between 4 teenage friends and their perceptions of the world is challenged by the freak show and the ever-elusive game, the Wacky Wire.
