SomaticPerformer, our collaborative company, produces and supports our teaching, writing/documenting and performance work. We mentor a spectrum of peers to collectively develop fresh means of personal discovery and new expressive forms integrating movement, sound, word, space, time, improvisation, composition and narrative. Our work is shared through performance events, participatory lecture demonstrations, writing and self-publishing. Funding supports our workshops by allowing us to offer a pay-what-you-can contribution pricing structure in support of diverse participation. Funding also allows us to offer extended residencies for individual choreographers or theater makers in our loft workspace in North Adams MA. We are seeking short, and long term support for our professional development workshops in specialized areas: dance, theater, architecture, business leadership, health and wellbeing. These workshops result in new curriculums developed by our students, new performance work, and the opportunity for our students and peers to construct work lives with support of a global network and close community. Specific projects in 2025 include: 6 Day Immersive /Retreat: Somatic Sources of Performance (Oikia, Karapanu Arts Center, Athens Greece); Performance Lab Mentored Residencies, SomaticPerformer work space, Eclipse Mill, North Adams MA (completely underwritten); 10th Annual SomaticPerformer Intensive for continuing students, North Adams MA; Open Introductory Workshops (2): Developmental Technique(TM) and Experiential Anatomy, NYC and Montreal CAN; Embodied Poetics Solo Project (Wendell Beavers); Open Educational Resource (OER) Archival Website Project--we are placing online all of our teaching and performance resources including syllabi, theoretical and instructional writing published and unpublished and recorded performance and course work.
