BANNER_VM_1000x160.jpg112.5 KBSOME GAYS OF A CERTAIN AGE is a feature length documentary by Grammy and People's Choice Award nominated director Victor Mignatti.
The film interweaves the life-stories of seven gay men who moved to New York City in the 1970s and 80s, survived the AIDS health crisis and other transformative struggles only to bear witness to the unprecedented challenges facing the United States today. As told from the unique perspective of HIV-negative gay men of a certain age, the film is a bracing, entertaining and often harrowing story of loss and survival as well as a tribute to our gay elders and a legendary era in New York City.
Cast: John Augustine, John Burke, Alan Filderman, John Masterson, Gerry McIntyre, Tim Pinckney
Fifty percent of all net profits derived from the distribution of the film will be donated in equal parts to: SAGE (advocacy services for LGBTQ+ elders), The Center (the New York City LGBTQ+ community center) and GMHC Gay Men's Health Crisis (the world's first HIV / AIDS support and advocacy organization).
The filming and editing have been completed and was self-financed by the filmmaker as a labor-of-love project. We are raising completion funds of $224,000 for the mastering (picture and audio), archival materials and music licensing, subtitling, legal, film festival presentation and festival public relations costs.
