Soup Commie is the community art practice of Uma Sanasaryan — multidisciplinary artist and neurodivergent immigrant mom who knows a thing or two about declining empires. Through monthly Community Soup & Story Nights at The Pop Hop Books Co-op in Highland Park, Los Angeles, she uses radical hospitality, ancient mythology, and a good pot of vegan soup to build, heal, and mobilize community.
