Family, pressure, obligation. Spit Out Your Bones tackles all of these themes through a week in the life of star college baseball pitcher, Filipino-American Oz Meralco. Inspired by NYU senior Cal Galicia's upbringing, the film aims to serve the need for more Filipino films in the Western cinema-sphere. But this project isn't only for Filipinos. If you've ever felt the obligation to serve others, putting their needs before yours—or you've simply felt the scrutiny as you've gone about your life, then there is something in this film for you. 

The film will be shot from February 22-25, 2025, in a couple locations around the NY metro area. Given Cal's dedication to authenticity, all the baseball scenes will be shot in a real functioning minor-league stadium, the Staten Island Hospital Community Park.

Over the last three years, Cal has worked on numerous projects to better himself as a creative. His YouTube videos have amassed hundreds of thousands of views (https://www.youtube.com/@CalGalicia), and he recently released his debut EP, "The Tragedy of a College Junior." More pertinently, he has spent much time as an assistant director on various NYU productions. His most recent film, Bodegalogue was a selection at the NY Shorts International Film Festival.

Currently, Spit Out Your Bones is in the pre-production phase, casting, location scouting, and gathering a crew. With this campaign, we will be able to secure all the key elements needed to make this film.
