This project is a staged concert production of the musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. All actors are also musicians playing the instrumentation for the show with smaller roles double- or even triple-cast. We are incorporating traditional orchestral instruments (violin, viola, french horn, flute, piano, clarinet) alongside non-traditional instruments (guitar, banjo, harmonica, ukulele) in an ambitious reimagining of an iconic musical. A majority of our cast are queer performers, extremely talented but also early in their careers, and we are excited to be donating all proceeds from ticket sales to Equality Loudoun (a local LGBTQ+ advocacy organization) - asking them to direct the proceeds toward their goal of opening a local LGBTQ+ safe space/community center.
