About

The Swan City Piano Festival aims to engage the vibrant arts culture of Lakeland, Florida through a multi-day celebration of pianists and piano repertoire, past and present. The Festival champions aesthetically-diverse pianists with connections to Florida with unique musical and curatorial voices, and commissions composers to write new works that cultivate a living repertoire. World class guest artists connect with community members of all ages through educational programming and immersive performance events.

The 2024 season, June 7-9, will feature Robert Fleitz, Martin Bejerano, and Byeol Kim,as well as a new work by Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha. There will also be a children's concert performed by John C. O'Leary and Claire Fleitz, and a masterclass by Charles Hulin.

Since our founding in 2019, we have hosted concerts online and in-person by a wide range of incredible artists, including Jihye Sung, Tal Cohen, Sun-A Park, Duo Beaux Arts, Greg Satterthwaite, Eunmi Ko, Robert Fleitz, Maxwell Foster, Yvonne Chen, Hannah Sun, and John C. O'Leary III. In addition, the festival is creating a new repertoire of piano music based in Lakeland, and has commissioned composers Erica Porter, Alexia Riner, Liliya Ugay, and Brian Dozier Brown. In addition, we have hosted masterclasses for local students, children's events featuring Claire Fleitz and Derik Thomas, and a public art installation by Eli Goldstone.

We work with several venues in the heart of Lakeland, including First Presbyterian Church, The Polk Museum of Art, Harrison School for the Arts, the Florida Children's Museum, and Pressed Bookstore.
