Tahoe Dance Camp

Tahoe Dance Camp launched during the summer of 2020 in response to the closure of San Francisco's theaters and the prospect of any normal dance routine hindered due to the pandemic. Artists came together to safely create at a time when we didn’t know how long it would be before we could get back into a studio.We were able to create three films and are looking forward to releasing them later this fall.
The dream for Tahoe Dance Camp is to become a yearly summer residency where dancers and choreographers and come and create. Classical Tahoe has graciously extended their venue for our use this season for a single evening performance. Scheduled for July 24th, it will provide a great introduction of Tahoe Dance Camp to the North Lake Tahoe area. I am thrilled to offer a program that showcases the highest level of San Francisco Bay Area dancers, world renowned choreographers, and phenomenal musicians. 

In addition to two world premieres by Danielle Rowe and Andrea Schermoly, the program includes existing works by Helgi Tomasson (Director of San Francisco Ballet), Christopher Wheeldon (Tony Award winning choreography & Artistic Associate of the Royal Ballet), Alonzo King (Director & Founder Alonzo King LINES Ballet) Justin Peck (Tony Award winning choreographer & New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer), Benjamin Millepied (Director of L.A Dance Project) and Dwight Rhoden (Founding Artistic Director & Resident Choreographer of Complexions Dance Company). For many of the artists, this will be their very first in person performance since the beginning of the pandemic.
