Teacup Music is a not for profit community music school based in NYC. It offers one on one music instruction for students of all ages. We value one on one mentorship and embrace the power of student-led learning. Critical thinking and creation is incorporated into every tier of the curriculum. Students learn about music from a variety of traditions and styles and are encouraged to go deeper into the musical traditions that best serve their interests and goals. They are encouraged to question the status quo and think expansively about how music is represented in popular culture. Collaborative projects between students are fostered through small group classes facilitated by the instructor.
Through our scholarship fund we seek to make this uniquely individualized instruction available to all while still paying teaching artists a fair wage for their work.
