The music video of Teeth shows Doris’ world view: starting with her view of her hands, the piano, and most importantly, her flashbacks.
Through the lens of her panic, she remembers her mother reciting a nervous litany about hookworm before dying from Covid. She sees a parallel between the recent pandemic and that prior public health crisis from her mother’s childhood, giving the audience a chance to pause and consider the ‘every mother’ / ‘every child’ of any public health crisis.
