Tempest New Music is dedicated to cultivating spaces for women and queer composers, performers, and ensembles to connect, collaborate, and showcase their passions, creative voices, and ideas to create a more inclusive tomorrow in the contemporary music space and beyond, amplifying underrepresented voices and promoting authenticity, sincerity, and curiosity.
At Tempest, we believe every feminine and queer experience deserves a place in contemporary music, whether they be shaped by joy, rage, whimsy, or resilience. We encourage women and queer artists to unapologetically embrace the experiences, emotions, and ideas that fuel their work and inspire others to take pride in who they are, advocate for their work and their community, and contribute to a richer, more representative musical landscape.
