The Ohio River Valley is rich with 19th-century industrial ruins, historic cemeteries, and cultural monuments. But they are actively disappearing.
Decades of harsh freeze-thaw cycles, acid rain, and biological weathering are mechanically destroying these artifacts. Intricate carvings are turning back into sand, and historical inscriptions are being erased forever. Once the physical stone crumbles, the history is gone.
Our Mission: The Digital Twin
The American Digital Heritage Project is an emergency preservation initiative. We use engineering-grade photogrammetry to capture these at-risk artifacts and transform them into millimeter-accurate, high-fidelity 3D models.
By creating a permanent "Digital Twin," we ensure that even when the physical object degrades, its geometry, texture, and historical data survive forever.
Free & Accessible for Everyone
We believe history shouldn't be locked away. All of our digitized models are uploaded to our public 3D archive, making them freely accessible to: • Educators: We build interactive STEM and Earth Science kits for local schools, allowing students to measure and study artifacts right from their classroom laptops. • Researchers & Genealogists: Preserving unreadable inscriptions before they are lost to time. • The Public: Connecting the community to their local heritage.
