Happy Blessed New Year!

Moving into 2024, I celebrate over a decade of living past a stage 4 rare breast cancer diagnosis.  My personal story through the crucible of advanced cancer shall be written in various forms (book, documentary and play).  My goal is to complete writing, workshop and produce a staged reading by October 2024.  The planned performance run shall be the main event of my advocacy to heal cancer and other life-threatening disease through creative arts.

I also plan to write and publish a book of meditations designed to shift mindsets of patients from despair to full empowerment and a field guide to help them achieve best possible health outcomes.  My studies as a graduate student in the world leading Global Master of Public Health program of Imperial College London shall enrich this work.

I'm also in the final stretch of completing my first full length screenplay, a sweeping historical epic, weaving story strands between America and the Pacific, richly based on over 20 years of largely undiscovered historical research.  I may further re-devise this work into a limited streaming series.

Another major project is the story of my grandfather, Teodoro F. Valencia, who was an important figure in Philippine contemporary history, not only in his chosen field of journalism, but  also as a patron and builder of the arts, culture and heritage in my nation.  The memoir will be based on a year-long retrospective on his work of over half a century with my commentary.  We will also work on the story and libretto of a full sung through musical based on a period/aspect of his life that we will plan to stage in 2025 in time for his 112th birth anniversary.

An intimate memoir of my life with my parents who both died in early 2021, a must in my list of important projects, is also currently on pre-production.
