Five years ago, I won a place at Dragon Productions Theatre's Monday Night Play Space in Redwood City where for the first time, I produced and presented a staged reading of a play in progress I had written about my cancer battle.  On that day, the show called "Uncancer Me!:  Battle Scenes on Stage and Screen" included a film screening of the award winning documentary short called "Pananampalataya" on my cancer journey by avant-garde filmmaker Crisanta de Guzman plus a lecture from Dance4Healing founder Amy Li.  We also held a panel discussion on how the creative arts can play a significant role in healing or mitigating life threatening disease.

In August 2020, I moved back to the Philippines to care for my aging parents who had suffered during the isolation of the pandemic.  They both passed away in early 2021.  This personal reversal put a pause to my creative efforts since my graduation from the Bethel Conservatory of the Arts Spring 2020.  The last two years are among the most challenging I have known.

Today, realizing more than ever how much creative arts for healing is needed, I chose to  restage the 2017 show, but revised, improved and adapted for a new and more diverse international audience.  In the wake of my loss, my mission to help people prioritize their efforts towards their own optimized health and life has taken on greater meaning.

This campaign is to raise funds to complete the revision, adaptation and full staging of the play that was previewed in part in 2017.  The play's title is "Romance and Revolution in C",  a stylized drama of significant moments in my cancer battle.

Writing Completion, Revision, Workshopping and Staging of the New Play in vibrant, modern and sophisticated Makati, Metro Manila will have a rough estimated cost of about 55K USD.  With your support, some of the best artists in the nation, including some who have battled cancer and won, can bring this work to life in its most realized form.  We envision the opening night of this play to signify the official launch of Uncancer Me! Asia, the Unpatient-led movement to reverse advanced cancer.

I seek your financial support for this fundraising campaign.  Together, we can greatly inspire and educate the beleaguered cancer community in the pursuit of vibrant life and health.

With your help, prayers and moral support, we can together reach this financial goal for the sake of this community that was among the hardest hit during the pandemic.  Many survivors suffered recurrences and metastasis, and many patients suffered unexpected deaths.  Help us to stem the tide and reverse this trend.

Campaign duration is 41 days from 7/22/2022 to 8/31/2022.

Thank you in advance for your care-full consideration and generous support!

Yours in health and creativity,

Victoria "Rhea" Valencia Ferro
