"The Bearer of Dangerous Truths" is a large-scale immersive art installation and performance event series to commemorate the lives lost, especially children, in the devastating Kerr County floods of July 4th, 2025. At its center is a monumental sculptural wave constructed from reclaimed wood, activated by projection mapping, dramatic light, and a powerfully emotional vocal requiem from the Children's Chorus of San Antonio singing in their pajamas, accompanied by live musicians from the Composer's Alliance of San Antonio. Suspended throughout the space are many miniature objects—backpacks, lunchboxes, and teddy bears—remnants of the children swept away, all hand-crafted by young students. Collectively, this work transforms a raw warehouse space in one of the poorest neighborhoods in San Antonio into a powerful site of remembrance, reflection, and collective grief, built by the community, for the community, set to premiere in July 2026 on the one-year anniversary of the tragic floods.
