Chicana choreographer Bonnie Cox will reside in Tijuana Mexico with Lux Boreal Dance Company as she develops The Borderlands Dance Project, a dance performance that will take place in Friendship Park on the U.S./Mexico border that aims to bridge the U.S. and Mexico’s disparate perspectives on the function of the border. Mexico and U.S. Borderland residents will generate the movement vocabulary, and Bonnie will coalesce the performance in collaboration with Tijuana dancers through deep cultural immersion and community integration.
