We are raising funds for the production and distribution of a music video for Diabetes vs Discipline, a song created to inspire and inform diabetes-impacted communities.
Diabetes takes the lives of approximately 100,000 Americans and 1.5 million people worldwide every year. Despite the availability of information on how to prevent and manage diabetes, diabetic cases and deaths are increasing globally, and disparities between White and minoritized people with diabetes in America persist.
Stories about overcoming (or thriving with) diabetes are rare, but necessary. Diabetes vs Discipline addresses the psychosocial challenges diabetic patients and their families face, and provides specific examples of health management through diet and exercise. Ultimately, this project aims to shift the prevailing discourse regarding diabetes into a narrative of empowerment. With your support, we can produce the Diabetes vs Discipline music video and use it to make a difference in the lives of the many people impacted by this deadly but defeatable disease.
