OUR MISSION. The Habitat provides emerging artists with valuable production support to develop new work in a supportive environment. We are dedicated to gender parity by putting women’s stories at the forefront and serving the work of female practitioners.
WHO WE ARE. The Habitat is made up of Caroline Gart; a freelance producer about town who has worked at The Public, Clubbed Thumb, The Bushwick Starr, JACK, New York Theater Workshop, 59E59 and Abrons Art Center. She is continually committed to supporting emerging artists and working towards a more equitable wealth distribution within the theatrical community.
The Habitat was created by Caroline Gart and Katie Lindsay in 2013.
