THE HEALING PROJECT is an artistic organization and constellation of creative works that aims to address & dismantle structural violence, with a particular focus on the effects of the prison industrial complex. It is created & directed by Samora Pinderhughes. The Healing Project pulls together the stories of people dealing trauma from policing, prison, and detention, and examines the processes they went through (and still go through) in order to heal. It provides a window into the work that healers do in their communities, under the intense weight of a violent system that fails them at every turn. And it continues the conversation that needs to be had about how each one of us can contribute to the fundamental transformation of our society into one completely and beautifully built around healing.
